Fall 2020 Letter

Hello Warehouse514 Students and Parents!

We want to let you know what is happening in our youth ministry! These last several months have been far different from what any of us imagined, but the Lord has been faithful. He will continue to be faithful this Fall, and we want to invite you to seek Him with us in the coming weeks and months!

We have 3 main goals for our high school youth. We want to create opportunities for you to:

  • Grow in relationship with Jesus – He is our Source of life, our Savior, and the One we need most!
  • Connect with others who know Jesus – Faith isn’t just personal; we grow when we are encouraged and challenged by others!
  • Discover your gifts to serve Jesus and others – Our faith is lived out by helping people!

How will we pursue these goals? I’m glad you asked! We have some specific activities this Fall that we would love for you to be a part of:

Regular Sunday Night Youth Group
We will gather as a large group on Sunday nights from 6-8pm in the Gym. Our official start date is September 13 with a soft launch on August 23 and 30. These nights will have all the normal parts of youth group we love (game, worship, message, small groups) while maintaining a safe environment for our students. Middle School will be together with High School Ministry on these evenings. Sunday nights will be a great time for youth to grow closer to God and each other!

Small Group Connections
Our small groups will meet every on Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30pm beginning September 17th. Youth will have the opportunity to connect with each other and leaders in a more personal setting. During these times students will play fun games, see friends, and talk about what God is doing in their lives. Don’t miss the chance to receive midweek encouragement and challenge this Fall!

Sunday Morning Service Opportunities
We will not have the Sunday morning youth service we have traditionally done in the past (sad face!). However, this creates a chance for our youth to serve in various areas throughout our church. Some ways to serve include: Children’s Ministry, Worship Team, Usher, etc…There are many ways to get involved, and we want to help you find the gifts God has put within you. Please consider how you can serve with us!

Ben and I will be sharing weekly videos of “discipleship adventures” for students on our Student Ministries YouTube channel. These videos will include interactive activities, encouraging devos, and more fun content! Also, the most up-to-date information will be shared on our social media pages or at www.warehouse514.org. If you’d like to get ahold of us, please email mtschantz@firstfriends.org or highschool@firstfriends.org.

We hope that you will join us this Fall on the adventure of following Jesus! It’s exciting to see  what God is doing in this time, and we want to help you experience His presence in your life!
